Billions spent on timber, aluminium imports as domestic timber remains underused

By Raman Paudel/Indira Aryal, Kathmandu, July 26: A farmer named Nabaraj Giri in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality, Dhading district, spent more than one million rupees to buy timber-made materials such as a sofa, sleeping bed, and table for his new house this year. He has hundreds of trees in a forest in his private land that cost up to five million rupees.
