One Arrested for Vandalizing Statues in Lamjung

Lamjung. Police have arrested one person for vandalizing the statues of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya and inspirational Ghansi Khadga Bahadur Thada Magar in Madhyanepal Municipality of Lamjung. The arrested is 34-year-old Roshan Kunwar, a permanent resident of Vyas Municipality-7, Tanahun. On the night of Shrawan 07, around 10:30 PM, unknown individuals vandalized and damaged the statues inside the Bhanu Ghansi Dialogue Park located near Risti Khola bridge in Madhyanepal Municipality-4, Duiiple Bagaincha. During the investigation of the incident, a team led by Police Inspector Dhruv Prasad Sharma of the Area Police Office, Bhortar, arrested Kunwar on Shrawan 08. According to Gyanendra Bahadur Kshetri, Information Officer and Police Inspector at the Lamjung District Police Office, further investigation is underway after obtaining a 5-day remand extension from the District Court for the arrested Kunwar in a criminal disturbance case.
