Rising arrivals demand a national tourism dashboard

Visitor arrivals have nearly recovered to pre-pandemic levels. Nepal’s next challenge is to measure, track, and distribute tourism value through receipts, local retention, workforce development, destination competitiveness, and a National Tourism Digital Dashboard.

Nepal’s tourism recovery is no longer a matter of hope; it is visible in the numbers. In 2025, Nepal received 1,158,459 international visitors, recording 0.95% growth over 2024 and reaching 96.8% of 2019 levels, according to Nepal Tourism Board’s Tourism Insights . The momentum has continued into 2026. Nepal welcomed 91,363 international tourists in June 2026, a 19.5% increase from June 2025 and 22.01% higher than June 2019, according to figures from the Nepal Tourism Board and the Department of Immigration.
