Nepal Medical Association Meeting on Future Protest Strategy

Kathmandu. A meeting of the Nepal Medical Association is underway to decide the strategy for the future protest. The meeting, being held at the central office of the association, is reviewing the upcoming strategy and protest. Central member of the association, Dr. Rakesh Shah, informed Ratopati that the meeting will make further decisions regarding the programs and strategy of the upcoming protest.

Nepal Medical Association had shut down all services except emergencies in hospitals across the country today in protest of the heinous attack on doctors and health workers working at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj and the mistreatment at the District Administration Office, Parsa. The association had informed through a press release on Monday that all services except emergencies in government, non-governmental, and private hospitals across the country would be shut down on Tuesday, August 12. Patients who came to receive services were affected due to the protest.
