Government Declares All Loan-Related Documents Illegal

Kathmandu. Last Wednesday, the Council of Ministers meeting made a significant decision to declare all documents related to usury illegal. The Council of Ministers' decision states that all types of documents prepared for the purpose of lending usury will be illegal.

Before this decision, the government had held talks with the usury-affected parties. The government made such a decision by approving the 9-point agreement reached in the talks. With this, the very difficult and long marchpas campaign of the usury victims from Janakpur to Kathmandu has been postponed for now.
