Oman Proposes Joint Management of Strait of Hormuz with Iran, Citing Voluntary Fees

Muscat. Oman has presented a new proposal to Iran for the joint management of the Strait of Hormuz in support of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations. The proposal includes a system for collecting voluntary fees from ships using the waterway, Reuters reported, citing diplomatic sources.

This proposal has been brought forward with the aim of normalizing international trade through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been affected by the war between the US-Israel and Iran.
