Two Earthquakes Near Rasuwagadhi Border Trigger Avalanche, Causing Flash Flood in Bhote Koshi River

Kathmandu. Preliminary studies show that two earthquakes occurred around the Rasuwagadhi border area in Rasuwa on Wednesday, followed by an avalanche on the Chinese territory, causing a flash flood with high speed, flow, and debris in the Bhote Koshi River.

The Flood Forecasting Division of the Hydrology and Water Resources Research Center under the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat stated in a press release that preliminary analysis of satellite images and various data indicates that an extremely high flash flood occurred after an avalanche near the border area.
