Government Plans to Modernize Postal Service with 'Smart Post' Initiative

Kathmandu. At a time when the existence of traditional post offices is being questioned due to the reach of mobile phones and the internet in every hand, the government's plan to make the post office smart is proving effective.

The government led by Prime Minister Balen Shah has moved forward with the concept of 'Smart Post' to make postal services effective. The 100-day agenda for governance reform published after the formation of the new government mentioned in point no. 27 that arrangements would be made to deliver government documents such as passports, copies of citizenship, and driving licenses to homes.
