Transformer Theft Disrupts Irrigation in Mahottari, Farmers Face Crop Loss

Janakpurdham. Farmers in Gaushala, Mahottari, are in trouble after the electric equipment (transformer) installed for irrigation was stolen. Farmers have been deprived of irrigation facilities due to the theft of the transformer during the crucial paddy planting season.

According to Dhan Bahadur Samaal Magar, a farmer from Gaushala Municipality-1, the transformer was installed in 2079 BS by the Agricultural Mechanization Promotion Center Naktajhij, Dhanusha, for the operation of a deep boring system. This transformer used to irrigate about 15-16 bigas of land through the deep boring system.
