Madhesi Parties Demand 8-Point Action Plan Following Sunsari Incident

Kathmandu. Madhesi parties have put forward an eight-point demand to the government for an impartial investigation into the incident in Devangunj, Sunsari, justice for the victims, and the maintenance of social harmony.

In a joint press statement issued on Thursday by Mahanta Thakur of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Rajendra Mahato of Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal, Jayakant Raut of Janamat Party, Samim Ansari of Rastriya Nirman Dal, and Constituent Assembly member Ramkumar Sharma, the leaders expressed condolences to the families of the citizens who lost their lives in the Devangunj incident and paid tribute to the deceased. They also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and expressed deep concern over the situation arising after the incident.
