Prime Minister Addresses Nation on Recent Incidents

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balen Shah has addressed the nation by name regarding the incidents in places like Devanaganj, Sunsari. He stated that the government is fully serious and sensitive to the unfortunate incident that occurred a few days ago and the subsequent unrest. During the address, Prime Minister Shah offered heartfelt condolences to Jayprakash Mehta, Omprakash Mehta, and Ganesh Yadav, who lost their lives in the incident, and expressed sympathy to the bereaved families. He informed that clear instructions have been given to the concerned health bodies to ensure no deficiency or delay in the treatment of the injured. The Prime Minister stated that the Home Ministry has already formed an investigation committee to conduct an impartial investigation of the incident and take strict legal action against the culprits. He assured that this investigation would be completely impartial and transparent. He said that all security agencies have been immediately deployed to the scene to normalize the situation and prevent further untoward incidents. He informed that the Home Minister himself has reached the scene to monitor at the local level and strengthen peace and security. Similarly, he clarified that the National Security Council meeting was held to seriously review the overall peace and security situation of the country and necessary decisions have been made. He stated that an all-party meeting has been called at the center to normalize the situation and continuous dialogue is ongoing at the local level. He appealed to everyone not to spread false information, rumors, and hateful content through social media or other means. Prime Minister Shah said, 'Let us believe only in the official facts and information issued by government bodies.' He reminded that it is the supreme duty of the state to protect the lives and property of citizens, preserve social harmony, and maintain peace. Mentioning that the Constitution of Nepal grants every citizen the fundamental right to practice their religion, culture, and traditions, he said that no religion teaches violence and division. He clarified that it is not just to blame an entire community for an incident in one place and spread the fire of revenge across the country. The government is aware of any activities that disrupt peace and security, spread chaos, and disturb centuries-old social harmony, and has warned that strict action will be taken against such activities. He appealed to the general public, civil society, religious leaders, political parties, and the media to exercise patience and restraint and maintain peace, harmony, and national unity.
