Rabi Lamichhane Urges Against Blame Amidst Communal Tensions

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has urged against criticizing the government or engaging in political blame at this moment regarding the communal tensions seen in Sunsari and various districts of Madhesh. Speaking to media persons on Thursday after a discussion with leaders of Madhesh-centric political parties, he stated that the first priority now is to 'extinguish the fire that has started' and establish peace.

Chairman Lamichhane urged understanding the sensitivity of communal violence and warned that making statements for cheap popularity at this time would be fatal. He said, 'There are plenty of opportunities and time for political competition, but right now, protecting the lives and property of citizens is everyone's shared responsibility. If I don't have water to put out the fire, it's better for me not to speak. We must be careful that our words do not worsen the situation.'
