Woman Dies After Assault in Birgunj

Birgunj. A woman who was injured in a beating at the Chini Mill in Pipra, Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, Parsa, has died during treatment. A person involved in the incident has been arrested by the police. On June 31, a dispute arose over the removal of bricks from a house that had collapsed during road expansion. During the dispute, local Lilawati Devi, approximately 50 years old, was beaten by Manoj Prasad Kurmi and Lucky Prasad Patel. Lilawati Devi, who was injured in the beating, was admitted to Narayani Hospital for treatment. After being discharged following treatment, her health condition deteriorated again on the evening of July 14. She was then admitted to the same hospital, where doctors declared her dead at 7:20 PM during treatment. A team led by a Police Sub-Inspector from the Gandak Police Post has arrested Lucky Prasad Patel, who was involved in the beating. Efforts are underway to apprehend Manoj Prasad Kurmi, who was also involved in the incident. The police have launched further investigation into the incident.
