14 Nations Support Saudi-Proposed Maritime Security Alliance

Riyadh. Fourteen countries have supported the multinational maritime security alliance proposed by Saudi Arabia with the aim of protecting international waterways and world trade. According to the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense, the countries supporting the alliance are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Sudan, Djibouti, and Somalia.
According to the Ministry of Defense, military chiefs and representatives from 43 countries participated in the meeting organized to discuss the proposal, either in person or via video. A delegation from the European Union (EU) also participated in the meeting.
