Communal Conflict Spreads in Nepal; PM Addresses Nation

The communal conflict that started from Kaptainganj in Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari, is gradually spreading to other areas, raising fears. Curfew orders have been issued in tense areas by various district administration offices to maintain peace and order.
Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah, in an address to the nation on Thursday evening, clarified that Nepal's constitution grants every citizen the fundamental right to practice their religion, culture, and traditions. He stated that no religion teaches violence and division. He warned that it is unjust to blame an entire community for an incident in one place and spread the fire of revenge across the country, and that the government is aware of any activities that disrupt peace and security, spread chaos, and disturb centuries-old social harmony, and will take strict action against such activities.
