CPN Prepares to Lead Provincial Government Amidst Internal Power Dynamics

Dhangadhi. The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), which did not win a single seat from Sudurpaschim in the House of Representatives elections held on Falgun 21, is now preparing to lead the provincial government. The CPN, which became the largest party in the Provincial Assembly, has got the opportunity to lead the government in the final period of its second term.

The power equation in Sudurpaschim has changed after an agreement was reached between the CPN and CPN UML at the center regarding the operation of the provincial government. The government led by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has become a minority after UML withdrew its support to the government led by the Nepali Congress. Now, it is almost certain that a new government will be formed under the leadership of the CPN within a few days.
