Milan. England defender John Stones has joined Italian champion team Inter Milan on a free transfer. The 32-year-old defender Stones has signed a two-year contract with Inter Milan. His contract expired at the end of June after spending 10 successful years at Premier League club Manchester City. He then became a free agent. After becoming a free agent, many European clubs including Chelsea and Juventus showed interest in him. Stones said that all his dreams have been fulfilled after winning six Premier League titles, a Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, a Club World Cup, and a UEFA Super Cup during his journey with City. He joined City from Everton in 2016 for 47.5 million pounds. He played 295 games for City, scoring 19 goals. Inter Milan won the Serie A title for the 21st time last season. The team will start its title defense campaign on August 22 against newly promoted team Monza. Stones, who has played 93 games for England, was a member of the national team that finished third in the World Cup this year. He played in the starting 11 in the quarter-final win against Norway and the 2-1 semi-final loss against Argentina.
