Karnali Chief Minister's Cabinet Expansion Delayed Amidst Ministry Allocation Dispute

Surkhet. Two days have passed since Karnali's newly appointed Chief Minister took office, but there is no sign of cabinet expansion. So far, the allocation of ministries between the ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (UML) has not been finalized.

Shah was appointed Chief Minister on Tuesday with the support of the UML. Although he had intended to form a full or at least a small cabinet when he took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday, he took the oath alone as the ministry allocation was not finalized. The process of selecting ministers will begin only after the ministry allocation is settled. The UML has insisted on getting 4 ministries, while the CPN (Maoist Centre) wants 3 ministries besides the Chief Minister.
