GANDAKI PROVINCE ASSEMBLY REPASSES CANNABIS BILL

Pokhara. The Cannabis Bill was unanimously passed by the Gandaki Province Assembly on Asar 25. The Province Assembly sent the bill to Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta for authentication on Asar 30.

However, Province Chief Bhatta returned the bill to the parliament for reconsideration without authenticating it. The bill, brought back on Saun 8, was discussed again in the Province Assembly on Friday. As the lawmakers insisted that the bill passed earlier should be authenticated as it is, the bill was passed unanimously for the second time. The provincial government has prepared this bill to arrange for the regulation and use of cannabis cultivation for medicinal and industrial purposes.
