Government Employees to Contribute Salary to Disaster Relief Fund

Kathmandu. A certain amount of the monthly salary of government employees will be deposited in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. A secretary-level meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office and Council of Ministers today decided to contribute from the nation's servants with the objective of contributing to relief and rehabilitation work after the great loss of life and property due to disaster.
Accordingly, from the lowest category employees, two days' salary of the initial salary scale, from gazetted non-gazetted or equivalent employees, five days' salary, from gazetted third and second class or equivalent employees, seven days' salary, and from gazetted first class and special class employees, 10 days' salary will be deducted and deposited in the fund for the month of Bhadra. With this, approximately Rs 36 crore will be contributed by federal government employees to the relief fund.
