Literary Figure Khagendra Sangraula Comments on 'Herd Mentality' Dominating Recent Elections

Kathmandu. Literary figure Khagendra Sangraula has commented that herd mentality dominated the parliamentary elections held on last Falgun 21. Speaking at a program on the topic 'Interrelationship between Society and Politics', he made this comment, stating that it was found that voters cast their votes for Balen Shah without even knowing he was the candidate in the last election.

His argument is that herd mentality prevails in Nepali society and current psychology. He said that political leaders exploit the mindless mobocracy of society for their own benefit. Literary figure Sangraula argued that there is a lack of rationality in Nepali society and a kind of 'herd mentality' dominates it.
