Nepali Congress Launches Disaster Management Training

Lalitpur. The central policy, research and training institute of the Nepali Congress has started a training program focused on preparedness and response for disaster management. Party President Gagan Kumar Thapa inaugurated the program by pressing the button to display a collage of disaster events that Nepal has faced at various times.

Addressing the inauguration, President Thapa said that the party has started such training to provide assistance by developing skills and capabilities as emotions alone do not work during disasters. He stated that compassion is the greatest quality in political leadership and that only a knowledge-based workforce can provide assistance when needed. President Thapa also urged the training participants to work with a spirit of service focused on this subject in the Congress's new campaign 'NC for NC'.
