Kathmandu. Nepal's recent performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 has made the journey to qualify for the 2027 ODI World Cup difficult. Nepal is under pressure in the points table as it could not achieve the expected results in the recent triangular series held in the Netherlands. Although Nepal showed competitive performance in some matches, it lost crucial points due to failure in both batting and bowling at decisive moments. Especially, losing to Namibia by a narrow margin of 3 runs became a big setback for Nepal. That defeat has affected Nepal's chances of reaching the top four. Nepal has not won any of its last 8 matches played away from home. In the series, Nepal lost the first match to Namibia by 8 wickets, the second match to the Netherlands by 6 wickets, the third match to Namibia by 3 runs, and the fourth match to the home team by 57 runs.
Nepal is now playing its final series of League 2 away from home. The series between Nepal, Oman, and Canada is scheduled to be held in Oman in October.
