International Conference on Applied Psychology to be Held in Nepal

Kathmandu. National College, under Kathmandu University, is organizing the 'International Conference on Applied Psychology' from July 21 to 23. The three-day conference, held in collaboration with the 'Nepal Association of Psychologists' and 'PsyDesk Foundation', will have the main theme 'Advancement of Behavioral Science: Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Perspectives'. The conference will be inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Prof. Dr. Rishikesh Wagle. The conference will feature discussions among international experts on topics including mental health, education, workplace health, community empowerment, public policy, and sustainable development. According to the organizers, representatives from 22 countries including America, Britain, Canada, Spain, France, Australia, India, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ethiopia, Oman, and the Netherlands will participate. Madhav Prasad Neupane, Conference Coordinator and Principal of National College, stated at a press meet organized at the college today that evidence-based psychological interventions and intercultural collaboration are necessary to solve complex social challenges. He expressed confidence that the conference will expand global collaboration in mental health, community strengthening, and sustainable development. According to Conference Coordination Secretary Dr. Narendra Singh Thaguna, 164 research papers will be presented at the conference. The research papers will focus on areas such as clinical and counseling psychology, neuroscience, organizational and educational psychology, artificial intelligence and mental health, sports psychology, Buddhist psychology, and disaster management. The conference will include keynote speeches by internationally renowned psychologists, panel discussions, workshops, symposiums, and interactive presentation sessions. According to the organizers, the conference aims to expand international collaboration, exchange new research on behavioral science, strengthen professional networks between universities and research institutions, promote multidisciplinary research, and contribute to sustainable development. Chhatra Karki, a member of the organizing committee and Vice-Principal of National College, informed that the best research presented at the conference will be published in Kathmandu University's 'Bodhi: An Interdisciplinary Journal', National College's 'Samriddhi Journal of Development Studies', and other peer-reviewed journals and edited books. He added that it is expected that the knowledge generated at the conference will be utilized in research, education, policy making, and practical application. National College believes that ICAP 2026 will contribute to establishing Nepal as an important center for international psychology research and educational collaboration.
