NRN Expresses Deep Condolences on Tragic Demise of Nirmal 'Nimsdai' Purja

Kathmandu. The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic demise of world-record-holding Nepali mountaineer and founder of Elite Exped, Nirmal 'Nimsdai' Purja, during the ascent of the world's 12th highest mountain 'Broad Peak' (8,051 meters), located in Pakistan's Karakoram mountain range.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the association's spokesperson Som Sapkota, it was mentioned that Purja had set a world record by climbing all 14 mountains above 8,000 meters in just 6 months and 6 days. The statement read, "Nirmal 'Nimsdai' Purja was a source of pride and inspiration not only for Nepal but also for Non-Resident Nepalis worldwide. As a Non-Resident Nepali, he proudly established the courage, capability, and identity of Nepalis on the international stage."
