Janakpurdham. An agreement has been reached between Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and the protesting Hindu Religious Front in Janakpur. The Front had launched a protest with 13 demands, and the Home Minister himself came to Janakpur on Saturday to negotiate. An agreement was reached after two rounds of discussions between the Home Minister and the protesting side. Assistant Chief District Officer and spokesperson of the District Administration Office, Bhudev Jha, stated that an agreement has been reached between both parties. The protesting side had presented a 13-point demand letter to the government team. Following the agreement, the government will proceed with homework to fulfill 12 demands immediately. As the protesting side also demanded that Nepal be declared a Hindu nation, the government requested 3 months, and everyone agreed to this. The talks were attended by the Mayor of Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City, Manoj Sah, representatives from Dhanusha, the Madhesh Provincial Government, local representatives, and the Chief District Officer, while representatives from more than a dozen religious organizations that had launched the protest participated in the talks. They had launched the protest against the Sunsari incident, demanding that Nepal be declared a Hindu nation along with various other demands. During the all-party goodwill rally held on Saturday, protesting youths chanted slogans at the program venue. As slogans began to be chanted at the program venue, the Member of Parliament from Dhanusha Constituency Number 2, Manish Jha, engaged in discussions with the protesting side.
