Film Production Permits Increase in Ashad Despite Poor Box Office

Kathmandu. The commercial situation of films in the month of Ashad remained disappointing. Due to the start of the monsoon, continuous rain, and the busyness of farming, audiences do not even have time to go to the halls. Therefore, Ashad is not considered a suitable time for film screening. Like in previous years, films released in the past Ashad such as 'I Am Jit Bahadur', 'Jaad', and 'Bhagdoud' could not make any impact at the box office. The investment in these films was like 'water on sand'.
However, although the month of Ashad was not commercially pleasant, there has been considerable enthusiasm in announcing and obtaining permits for new film productions. According to the latest data from the Film Development Board, the number of people obtaining permits for film production has increased in Ashad compared to Baishakh and Jestha.
