Devotees flocking to Shiva Temples

Kathmandu, Aug 3: Today marks the third Monday of Shravan according to the lunar calendar, and pilgrims are gathering in droves at temples across the nation, including the iconic Pashupatinath Temple.

Every year, during the sacred month of Shrawan, huge crowds of Hindu devotees are found gathering at prominent Shiva temples, such as the Pashupatinath Temple, especially on Mondays. Devotees come to offer holy water, ‘belpatra’ (sacred trifoliate leaf of the bael tree), and heartfelt prayers.
