Ranjit Karna Urges Nepali Congress Unity Amidst Internal Strife

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader and National Assembly member Ranjit Karna has specially urged the leadership to end the internal conflict within the party and make it a unified Congress. Speaking at the 'Unity-Harmony Discourse: 2083' program organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday, leader Karna asserted that democracy and the economy cannot be strong without a strong party. Expressing concern over the growing factionalism within the party, leader Karna urged both party President Gagan Thapa and the dissenting (Chundevi gathering) faction to be flexible. He said, 'Making the Nepali Congress unified is the main need of today. For this, both the President and the dissenting faction must take a step back each to make the party one entity.' Karna stated that the weakening of Congress has directly impacted the overall governance system and economy of the country. 'If Congress weakens, democracy weakens,' Karna said, 'The country's economy is currently in ruins, industrialists and businessmen are terrified. The rule of law is being flouted, and capital is fleeing the country. All this is a result of political instability.' Karna also hinted that Congress needs to reconsider its ideological path. Recalling that a majority of members signed in favor of Hinduism at the Mahasamiti meeting held in Godavari, he said, 'During my countrywide tours, I understood the public's sentiment and found a strong atmosphere in favor of Hinduism. Congress cannot ignore this public wave.' He emphasized that the party must think about Hinduism in time and make its stance clear. Other leaders participating in the discourse organized under the 'Campaign to Connect the Country and Congress' also expressed the view that the party must be made vibrant and unified.
