1,040 MW of electricity set to be added to national grid

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: Nepal is set to significantly expand its electricity generation capacity in the current fiscal year as private investment in the hydropower sector continues to grow. The government has targeted adding a total of 1,040 megawatts (MW) of electricity to the national transmission system during fiscal year 2026/27 (2083/84 BS) through hydropower and solar energy projects.
