Probe finds irregularities in Nepal Television equipment procurement

Kathmandu, Aug 5: A government-appointed investigation committee has uncovered widespread irregularities in the procurement of equipment and services for Nepal Television (NTV) and submitted its report to the Ministry of Information and Communications.

The report was handed over to Minister for Information and Communications Dr. Bikram Timilsina on Wednesday. The committee investigated the procurement of digital transmitters, audio-visual and graphics systems, playout automation, and online broadcasting platforms, concluding that the procurement process involved illegal decisions, procedural flaws, and actions that created significant financial liabilities.
