Restaurant Operator Arrested in Pokhara for Heroin Trafficking

Kathmandu. Police have arrested a restaurant operator on charges of trafficking brown heroin from Sirjana Chowk in Pokhara Metropolitan City-8, Kaski. The arrested is 40-year-old Chandeshwar Mahato, a native of Motihari, India. He was operating a restaurant named Mandal in Sirjana Chowk. SP Durga Raj Regmi of the Narcotics Control Bureau told Ratopati that 145 grams and 27 milligrams of brown heroin were recovered from the accused. Police investigation shows that the accused was involved in the trafficking of brown heroin under the guise of a restaurant. SP Regmi informed that he used to bring brown heroin from Gorakhpur, India, and sell it in the urban areas of Kaski. A team deployed from the Bureau's branch office in Pokhara arrested him and handed him over to the District Police Office, Kaski.
