Former Bangladesh Cricket Captain Shakib Al Hasan's Residence Attacked

Dhaka. Former Bangladesh cricket captain Shakib Al Hasan's residence was attacked with petrol bombs, breaking windows. The attack occurred a few hours after Shakib participated in a program where ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina interacted with the media publicly for the first time after being removed from power. At the program, Hasina pledged to return to Bangladesh in December.

According to police, a group attacked Shakib's ancestral home in Magura city, about 170 kilometers (105 miles) southwest of the capital Dhaka, on Wednesday. During the attack, a fire broke out on the upper floor of the house. Police said no one was injured as the house was empty at the time.
