Minister Sita Badi Clarifies Separate Bus Service for Women as Special Protection, Not Gender Inequality

Kathmandu. Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Sita Badi has stated that operating a separate bus service exclusively for women is not gender inequality but a necessity for special protection. Minister Badi gave this clarification in response to a question from MP Madan Kumari Shah during the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, who asked if the 'Blue Bus' service would increase the distance between men and women and push society backward.

MP Madan Kumari Shah had commented that the government painting the Sajha Yatayat buses in the ruling party's color (blue) and operating them exclusively for women was a short-term measure for popularity. She questioned Minister Badi, asking,
