Foreign Minister Inaugurates Consular Authentication Online Application System

Kathmandu. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has inaugurated the 'Consular Authentication Online Application System' to make consular services more modern and effective.

While launching the 'Nepal e-Authentication System' for consular authentication at the ministry, Minister Khanal expressed confidence that the use of digital technology will bring about a radical change in the working style of public administration. Digital technology is not just a medium for service delivery but an important process for transforming public administration. He clarified that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is always committed to service delivery that is service recipient-friendly, transparent, and technology-friendly. According to him, the online application system that has come into operation will further strengthen the ministry's goal of providing hassle-free and quality service to service recipients. He said, 'The use of digital technology is not limited to changing the medium of service delivery but is a transformative process that makes public administration more transparent, effective, and accountable. I am confident that this will make the interaction between citizens and the government easy, reliable, and in line with international practices, contributing significantly to enhancing the quality of public service.' Discussing the benefits of the system, he added, 'I want to reaffirm that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is always committed to service delivery that is service recipient-friendly, transparent, and technology-friendly. I express my confidence that the online application system for consular authentication launched today will provide faster, easier, and quality service to service recipients, making public service delivery more effective.' With the launch of the new system, the compulsion for service recipients to be physically present for consular authentication is expected to end, leading to procedural ease. The ministry has taken this step in line with its policy of making services fully technology-based.
