Bagmati Province Government Formation Faces Hurdles Amidst Coalition Negotiations

Hetauda. The formation of a new government in Bagmati Province has become increasingly complex amidst continuous calculations. Amidst difficult arithmetic, UML and CPN, who are in the process of forming a government from the left alliance, are in further uncertainty. The government formation process has not been able to move forward, especially due to the dispute within UML, and the search for partner parties has become complicated. Regarding government formation, the left parties have not yet reached the stage of staking a claim. UML and CPN are continuing their efforts to persuade smaller parties to meet the arithmetic required for government formation.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), which holds the key to power, has concluded that it will not participate in the government formation game and has urged the major parties to form the government. Even in such a situation, the left parties are still waiting for RPP's decision. The central committee meeting of RPP held on Wednesday decided not to participate in any provincial government's power equation in the current situation and gave the party chairman Rajendra Lingden the authority to make a decision at an appropriate time if necessary in the future.
