ERC study warns of wide economic impacts from VAT imposed on electricity

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: The government is poised to collect only Rs 4.27 billion in revenue by imposing the controversial value added tax (VAT) on household electricity consumption, while adding a heavy cost burden to the general public.
