Raga Revives Academic Discourse

Music in the form of ragas filled the air in Kathmandu when an international music festival took place at the Lalitkala Campus, Tribhuvan University, featuring musicians, researchers, students, and listeners from both within and outside Nepal. The festival was special in itself, as it had an excellent academic dimension and a unique forum where music was not only performed but also discussed. Topics such as 'Music as Therapy', 'AI in Music Education', 'Women Experts in Nepali Music', 'Documenting Dalit Music' and 'Dance from a Vernacular Perspective', and 'Intellectual Property Rights and Copyright Issues in Nepal' became widely discussed in papers throughout the entire festival.
