Government Launches Taxpayer Incentive Lottery Program

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has taken a positive step today to make customers aware of taking bills. In the name of the taxpayer incentive lottery program, the Ministry of Finance has started distributing gifts through lottery to eligible taxpayers who have purchased goods by taking bills from today.

In the past, the tax administration used to only show the fear of punishment to prevent revenue leakage and tax evasion. Generally, customers did not pay much attention to taking bills as they themselves were not liable for punishment for not taking bills while buying and selling in the market. However, the Ministry of Finance has now initiated a positive effort through the 'Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program' with the objective of motivating consumers to ask for VAT bills.
