Congress Leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala Rejects Rs 2 Crore Budget for Koirala Residence Renovation

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has rejected the Rs 2 crore budget allocated by the government for the repair and maintenance of 'Koirala Residence' in Biratnagar, Morang.

In a letter to Mukundaprasad Niroula, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Dr. Koirala stated that the amount should be spent on the upliftment of common citizens who are deprived and in hardship, given the limited resources of the state, and therefore, he cannot morally accept the sum.
