Chakre Milan Acquitted in Money Laundering Case by Supreme Court

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has acquitted Chakre Milan, also known as Milan Gurung, who has a criminal background, in a money laundering case.
A bench of Justices Abdul Ajij Musalman and Meghraj Pokharel on Thursday upheld the special court's decision to acquit Gurung. The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had filed a case on Jestha 5, 2070, based on the investigation by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police against Deepak Manange, Ganesh Lama, Parshuram Basnet, Abhishek Giri, and Chakre Milan. After the special court acquitted everyone in that case, the government filed a case in the Supreme Court on Jestha 30, 2075, demanding that the special court's decision be overturned. While there was no appeal in the Supreme Court regarding Manange, cases were registered in the Supreme Court against others.
