FIFA President Infantino Faces Divided Global Football Leadership

Kathmandu. World football has been divided into two camps regarding the leadership of FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Although the controversial plan to sell stakes to private investors in the World Cup competition has been withdrawn, the controversy surrounding Infantino has not yet subsided.

Co-host nation of the 2026 World Cup, Mexico, has openly supported Infantino's leadership. The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) issued a statement stating that Infantino's leadership is necessary for institutional reform and the development of world football.
