South Korean Football Association Faces Allegations of Referee Bribery and Misconduct

Kathmandu. An investigative report by South Korean television broadcaster JTBC has once again drawn the South Korean football administration into controversy. According to the report, a secret audit report prepared by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2016 mentions allegations that the Korea Football Association (KFA) provided special facilities to foreign referees.

JTBC, citing a former KFA official, claimed that the association tried to influence referees with the intention of 'making decisions in our favor'. According to South Korean news agency Yonhap, referees from Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Bahrain, and Uzbekistan were assigned to those matches.
