Nepal and Gavi Discuss Strategic Cooperation for 2027-2030

Kathmandu. High-level discussions were held between the Government of Nepal and 'Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance' on strategic cooperation from 2027 to 2030. In the meeting held between Health and Population Minister Nisha Mehta and a team led by Gavi's Senior Manager for Nepal, Nilgun Aydogan, discussions were held on vaccine cooperation for the next four years, co-financing, and financial sustainability of the program.

In the meeting, Gavi proposed to provide Nepal with vaccines worth 39.6 million US dollars and cash grants of 18.06 million US dollars for the upcoming period. Discussions were also held on the subject that Nepal would have to co-finance 17.1 million US dollars under the proposed assistance.
