Government Implements Electronic Driving License and Vehicle Registration System

Kathmandu. The government has implemented the Electronic Driving License (EDL) and Vehicle Registration System (VRS) across the country with the aim of making transport service delivery digital, transparent, and hassle-free. With the implementation of the new system, service recipients can avail most services online, from application to health check-ups, revenue payment, and license renewal.

Most of the problems seen in the initial phase are not due to the new system but due to past erroneous records and delays in implementation in some offices. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has stated that these problems are gradually being resolved.
