Babarai Irrigation Project Sees Unprecedented Enthusiasm from Construction Entrepreneurs Due to 'Average Bid' System

Kathmandu. Construction entrepreneurs have shown unprecedented enthusiasm due to the 'average bid' system implemented in the Babarai Irrigation Project. 216 construction companies have submitted bids for two contracts with a cost of less than 20 million rupees under the project.

102 construction companies applied for bid in contract number 12 of the project and 114 construction companies applied for bid in contract number 14. The new system has attracted entrepreneurs at a time when problems of leaving construction incomplete or poor quality due to accepting contracts at low rates were increasing.
