CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel Analyzes Party's Disconnect with Four Communities

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has analyzed that four communities have been distancing themselves from the party of late, and 'populism' is trying to take their place. He expressed this view about the party's recent situation while addressing the 'Mission Party Jagaran, 2083' and organization strengthening program organized in Tarkeshwor.

Pokharel stated that especially since the 2079 elections, the urban middle class, landless squatters and urban poor, the new generation of youth, and Nepalis working in foreign employment have been distancing themselves from UML. Expressing concern over the declining attraction of the new generation towards the party, he pointed out that Nepalis living abroad are also becoming negative towards the party.
