Karnali Chief Minister Fails to Expand Cabinet Amidst Political Negotiations

Surkhet. Despite 11 days passing since his appointment as Chief Minister, Mangal Bahadur Shahi has not been able to expand the cabinet in Karnali. He was appointed Chief Minister on July 28 with the support of UML and took the oath of office and secrecy on July 29.

Even after such a long time, Shahi alone has been managing the government. The absence of ministers has affected work at the ministry level, and the government seems to be held hostage by indecision. July is the first month of the new financial year, a time for preparing work procedures for budget implementation, pre-planning for projects, and making administrative decisions. Officials from the ministries state that due to the lack of ministers, some policy decisions and file approvals that should be made at the ministry level have been stalled.
