Ilam. Farmer Deshraj Limbu of Mangsebung Rural Municipality-2 earned Rs 315,000 last year by selling ginger. He sold the main produce (baby ginger) at a rate of Rs 4,500 per man (40 kg). "Last year, there was a good price for ginger, and the production was also abundant, so the income was also substantial," he said.
Having cultivated ginger on five ropanis and producing 90 man, he kept 20 man for seeds and sold the rest. He has planted 20 man of seeds this year with the expectation of producing 120 man. He said, "If the price is like last year, I will earn more than five lakhs this year."
