Gagan Thapa: Opposition to Government's Wrongdoings is Healthy for Democracy

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that the ruling coalition partner Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MPs raising questions about the government's wrongdoings in parliament should be viewed positively. Thapa expressed this view while addressing the central committee meeting ongoing at the party's central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
Addressing the meeting, Thapa said that even though his own party is participating in the government, opposing the government's bad deeds is a beautiful aspect of parliamentary democracy. 'It is right for RSP MPs to speak about the government's bad deeds in parliament,' Thapa said. 'Just because our party is in government doesn't mean we have to remain silent. We also used to speak against wrong decisions and actions when Congress was in government.'
